Simply run your local event before 31 December 2020 and your winning team from the day will go in the running to win their way straight through to the 2020/21 Volkswagen Scramble Championship Final.

The Volkswagen Scramble is a golf tournament conducted over three stages in three distinct formats and is open to amateur golfers of any level, gender and of any age junior to senior, as long as they hold a current Golf Australia Handicap.

 

To be eligible to host a local qualifying event, the course must be a regulation eighteen-hole or nine-hole Golf facility with an official Slope Rating. 

 

Host Clubs will receive all promotional material (printed and digital), an online event portal, Callaway Tee Gift for each player (valued over $20.00pp), a Callaway prize pack (valued over $1,700 per event), an introduction to the local Volkswagen dealer with the aim of them adding additional sponsorship for your event and club, and all support you'll need from the PGA of Australia Events Division.

 

Local Event Dates and Event Types

Local Events are staged at the host clubs discression between 1 August 2020 and 8 March 2021 and can be one of the following:

  • Open Event – open to any golfer with a Golf Australia Handicap
  • Members Event – only club members are eligible to play the event
  • Invitational – a minimum of one club member plays in each team
  • Women’s Open – open to any female golfer with a Golf Australia Handicap
  • Women’s Members Event – only female club members are eligible to play the event
  • Women’s Invitational – a minimum of one female club member plays in each team

 

Local Event Numbers

A minimum of 48 participants (12 teams) is required in order to qualify a team for the Regional Finals. For Women’s only Volkswagen Scramble events, a minimum of 36 participants (9 teams) are required to qualify a team through to the Women’s State Finals.

 

Local Event Entry Fee
Entry fee is $40.00 per player as percentage of this entry fee is retained by the Host PGA Professional/Club. A host club can add a green fee on top of this entry fee if they wish to.

Regional Finals (March / Early April 2021)
Qualifying teams from each local event will compete in a Regional Final at one of Australia’s leading courses in their area. Accompanied by a PGA Professional, the team will be treated to a round of golf, an event shirt, a tee gift, a sit down meal and other activities in addition to the ongoing sponsor promotions. The winning team will qualify to the Championship Final. Entry fee for the Regional Final is $100.00 per amateur player.


Championship Final (May/June 2021)
The Championship Final is the ultimate four day golfing experience where qualifiers get the opportunity to compete under full tournament conditions in addition to attending an array of social functions in celebration of their success. Entry Fee for the Championship Final is $350.00 per team member.
